Potsdam and Sanssouci Palace

Upon arrival in Potsdam, enjoy a visit to Sanssouci Palace, the former residence of Prussian monarchs. You will see its beautiful interiors, as well as its impressive park. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to explore Potsdam city – the capital of Brandenburg; here you will be able to admire the Dutch Quarter, the Russian Colony (Alexandrowka) as well as the City Palace. Checkpoint Charlie

During the times of the German Democratic Republic Checkpoint Charlie was probably the most popular border checkpoint between East- and West Berlin. It was particularly famous for the numerous escape attempts from Eastern Berlin. Today, a border sign, an original replica of the control barrack as well as the Berlin-Wall Museum recall the former checkpoint.

Pergamonmuseum

The Pergamon Museum was built according to designs of Alfred Messel by Ludwig Hoffmann between 1910 and 1930 as the last of the five museums. Designed as a three-wing-construction and now houses three museums: the Collection of Classical Antiquities with the architectural halls, the sculpture wing, the "Vorderasiatisches" Museum and the Museum of Islamic Art.
